Our LED Light Therapy comes in three different types of lights:

How LED Light Therapy Works

Light therapy works by impacting the function of cells in your skin. As your cells absorb wavelengths of light, they produce energy more efficiently, in structures called mitochondria. Specific wavelengths of light impact the cells in different ways.

  • Red light therapy: Red light is commonly used to decrease inflammation and promote healing by increasing blood flow. In addition to improving your skin, red light can also help reduce pain in your muscles. Red light treatments often contain "near infrared" wavelengths as well, and they are used to treat age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.
  • Green light therapy: Green light targets both the superficial and deeper layers of the skin. These wavelengths stimulate healing and improve skin firmness. They also help decrease the production of melanin the natural pigment that gives skin its color. Melanin can cause dark spots on your skin.
  • Blue light therapy: Blue light decreases inflammation. It can also kill bacteria and other microbes under the skin, and reduce activity in the glands that produce oil on your skin. Blue light is often combined with violet wavelengths and is commonly used to treat acne.
How many sessions are needed?

The timeline varies based on your objectives and existing state. Generally, acute injuries such as sprains or abrasions display swift enhancement and often recover within 2-4 sessions. Persistent and chronic issues could necessitate around 10 treatments to exhibit notable advantages.

Typically, clients opt for 3 sessions per week until their goals are achieved, subsequently scaling down to 1-2 sessions weekly for upkeep. Athletes engaging in demanding routines might find 3-5 sessions weekly optimal for optimal recovery.

What should I wear during treatment?

Most users prefer to do a session in the nude. Delivering natural light to more surface area of your body leads to better light therapy outcomes, but full nudity is not required for effective use.

Lighter garments (underwear, bras, and socks) may be worn without hampering a treatment.

Are you COVID compliant?

Yes, we have conducted complete COVID risk assessments, follow all the government guidelines, use the appropriate PPE and sanitize after each session.

Should I wear eye protection?

If wearing eye protection is your preference, Zen Om will provide goggles for your session. However, the wavelength of red and near-infrared light is actually healthy for your eyes. You may want to close them and take a nap, though.

What should I do before my session?

Remove all jewelry that could refract light. Remove as much makeup as possible, and limit the use of lotions, especially ones with light-blocking agents. Hydration is vital to the success of the treatments, so please drink water throughout the day!

What will the session feel like?

The lights themselves do not become warm; however, your circulation increases throughout the treatment, so you may experience a feeling of warmth. A quick energy boost or feeling of euphoria is also possible.

What should I do after my session?

Stay hydrated! Water is a crucial component for cellular activities, and your cells will be actively engaged following PBM. Ensure to consume additional water and maintain a balanced diet to provide your cells with the necessary fuel for effective healing.
